Art As I See It
Since I was a young child I have had a passion to draw. I was lucky enough to have two older brothers who were good artists and I wanted to be just like them. Thankfully they shared their time with me and taught me how to draw.
However, my painting skills did not really develop until I was a teenager due to the cost of materials so it is probably no surprise to discover that I ended up at art college and went on to work as a graphic / web designer in the advertising design and print industry for over 40 years but now my life is a series of adventures of my own choosing.
I am a restless soul and I am interested in lots of different subjects. I will paint and draw anything from pets, people, landscapes, aeroplanes, locomotives and automobiles. Today, I sketch, paint in oils and watercolours, take photographs and create digital art.

I also have a real passion for history, genealogy and archaeology so when I'm not creating art you may bump into me in an archive somewhere researching something that grabbed me and made me want to uncover more information about a particular subject and write about it.
Where art is concerned I like to paint or photograph or make digital art for no other reason than because a subject or a scene appeals to me.
I am drawn to people, light, colour, abstract forms, texture, shadows, water, planes, trains and automobiles etc., etc. In fact, in life, I love looking for the unusual or picturesque in any scene and in any subject. If it grabs me, I will probably photograph it. After that, I may choose to sketch it or paint it.

Some of my work has been exhibited in the Mall Galleries in London and elsewhere. It has also appeared in newspapers, magazines and on TV and is available on all kinds of merchandise, and even on wallpaper in different online stores.

Art is subjective, and my website is dedicated to all forms of art 'as I see it' and choose to express it. These are the views that captured my attention, were ravished by my eyes and expressed in various formats by me simply for my own pleasure.

Each piece of artwork that I produce is interesting to me and I hope that you may find my art interesting too. I don’t try to convey some higher meaning or nonsense about what I do or what I am looking at. If it appeals to me, I will draw it, paint it or photograph it.

Not all of my original artwork is available to buy. I don't like selling my original paintings simply because I invest so much time into them that it often feels like i'm parting with one of my children when I do sell them.
Unframed and framed giclee prints of my work are available only through me so if you see something that you like, or there is something that you would like to commission please do contact me using the Contact Me form on this website or contact me on Instagram or Facebook and ask - I don't bite.
